Setena is the Catalan word for one-seventh—the amount of the harvest that farmers in ancient Spain paid landowners for the right to work the land.

Old vines on well-draining clay and chalk soils high on the terraced hills southwest of Barcelona. Lees fermented and aged in French oak barrels for 6 months (100% new).
Grapes
70% Garnacha Blanca, 20% Chardonnay, 10% Sauvignon Blanc. Picked: September 1–15, 2003.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Intensely floral with apricot, vanilla and anise notes. Taste: Apricot, pear, citrus and hazelnut with a velvety finish.

Palio is named for an annual race in the teramo province of Abruzzo where teams compete for a prize by rolling barrels through the streets.

Hand-picked in small baskets from hillside vineyards that face the Adriatic. Cooling sea breezes temper the hot days and allow for full ripeness and balance. Clay and limestone soils. Temperature-controlled fermentation and aging in oak casks.

100% Montepulciano. Picked: October 10–14, 2003.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Blackberry, loganberry and plum with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. Taste: Blackberry, cherry and wild strawberry.
